Kwale and Mombasa Symposiums on “Management of Counter Human trafficking Initiatives among the Grassroots”

Consolation East Africa a non governmental organization from Nairobi  founded with the aim of building the Capacity of grassroots organizations working to counter human trafficking in East Africa in collaboration with Trace Kenya from Mombasa, Kwale Human Rights Organization and Arise and Shine Youth Group from Kwale will be hosting a training symposium on “Management of Counter Human trafficking Initiatives and Trafficking in Persons Awareness in East Africa” in Kwale on 14th to 15th of June 2010  and in Mombasa on 16th to 17th June 2011. The venues for both symposiums be communicated later.

Untold Pain and Anguish

The main aim of the  symposiums will be to explore issues related to advocay, accompaniment and service to the victims and  survivors. Participants will be taken through a deeper analysis of trauma associated with human trafficking and trauma debriefing and counselling. Lastly the participants will be taken through basic skills in resource mobilization and project management.

  3. Practical Case studies
  4. Information technology and human trafficking
  5. Model of (trauma) counseling intervention
  6. Moral reflection
  7. Basic skills in Project Management
  8. Basic skills in Resource Mobilization

The training will be very beneficial to CBOs, NGOs, faith based organizations, law enforcement officials, women’s groups, child welfare organizations’ officials, youth empowerment initiatives and other advocacy organizations that deal with victims of exploitation. Former victims of trafficking would also find this symposium quite beneficial to them. Only a few spaces are available on a first come basis.
